NOTW: Jamberry Inspired Skittle

Hello!

This week's look is centered around a Jamberry nail wrap. My sister roped me into trying some of these with her, and this one was a free sample.

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I paired my wrap with two coats of China Glaze Re-fresh Mint topped with Seche Vite. I added some soft and subtle sparkle to my middle finger with OPI Pirouette My Whistle, and to pull the whole look together, I focused on the yellow of the flowers and added some small dots with Sinful Colors Unicorn.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey Modern Hearts

Hello!

Today, I have Rainbow Honey Modern Hearts to show you!

Rainbow Honey Modern Hearts. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Modern Hearts is a glitter topper in a clear base. For glitters, I see neon pink hexes and squares, mango-colored hexes, light yellow hexes, tiny white hexes, and white hearts. There is also iridescent shimmer, which I've come to expect and love from Rainbow Honey polishes.

Rainbow Honey Modern Hearts. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are one coat over yesterday's Maybelline Bleached in Peach swatch plus two coats of topcoat. This applied nicely, and I didn't see the need to dab. I did, however, place the hearts purposefully.

Rainbow Honey Modern Hearts. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Modern Hearts came in my mystery bag so I'm not sure if this will be available for purchase on it's own. Keep an eye out at Rainbow Honey for new releases!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Maybelline Bleached in Peach

Hello!

Today's swatch is Maybelline Bleached in Peach!

Maybelline Bleached in Peach. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Bleached in Peach is a pale, but bright peach creme polish. This was released earlier this year in a limited edition collection called Bleached Neons. I wanted the whole collection, but missed out on it during our big move. This was the only one I've found so far!

Maybelline Bleached in Peach. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are one coat of Sinful Colors Basecoat, three coats of Bleached in Peach, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute topcoat. This was honestly a streaky nightmare, at first. I needed three coats for full coverage but it wasn't super even at that. Pastels and neons can be finicky, and this has elements of both so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

Maybelline Bleached in Peach. Indoors, filtered sunlight (through a window), no flash.

I found my bottle on clearance at ShopKo.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Zoya Dillon

Hello!

Today, I have Zoya Dillon swatched up for you!

Zoya Dillon. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Dillon is a pretty, mint green shimmer. So much shimmer, it's almost metallic!

Zoya Dillon. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I started with one coat of Sinful Colors Basecoat, then added two coats of Dillon. I topped this off with one coat of NYC In a New York Minute topcoat. This has a nice, easy formula. The first coat does go on a bit streaky and sheer, but the second provides a perfect, even finish.

I added one coat of Butter London Matte topcoat to my swatch to see what happened... and I think I like it better!

I purchased my bottle from Zoya.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Dear Rus New Matte #15 (I think...)

Hello!

Today's polish is from Dear Rus. When this came to me, it had a sticker down the entire length of the bottle that was sort of like a seal, so I removed it when I opened the bottle. Unfortunately, that was the only place which had the designation of this polish on it. So, I think this is New Matte #15, but it could also be #18.

Dear Rus New Matte #15. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

This one is a pale, periwinkle creme. I do like the color, but the formula was weird...

Swatches today are one coat of Sinful Colors Base Coat, three coats of polish, and one coat of NYC in a New York Minute topcoat. As I mentioned, the formula on this polish is strange. It's sheer, yet slightly textured, almost like the individual pigment particles are visible. It did not self-level well, so I needed three coats for opacity. Even then, the finished looked oddly uneven, which topcoat helped correct. This has a satiny-matte natural finish, but it went on so poorly that I don't think I could wear it without topcoat.

Dear Rus New Matte #15. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I purchased this polish on clearance from Llarowe, where I don't see it for sale any longer.

NOTW: Ready for Fall with Cozy Plaid!

Hello!

This week's mani was definitely ready for Fall! I used two coats of Powder Perfect Widow's Walk on my thumb, pointer, and pinkie. My middle and ring fingers got three coats of Sally Hansen Big Smoky topcoat before I stamped the plaid image from Konad plate m60 with Konad Special Polish in Black. I used one coat of Seche Vite over everything to complete my cozy look!

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Even though temperatures this summer have been really quite nice and mild, I am definitely ready for fall and snow! I'm so glad to be back in Minnesota--here's to a proper winter! I've missed it!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal

Hello!

Today, I have a very old untried to finally show you. This one is Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal.

Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Paranormal is a glow-in-the-dark polish with small iridescent squares and iridescent shimmer. This is definitely a layering polish, however, all the glow in the dark pigment did serve to lighten my base color a little bit.

Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are two coats of Paranormal over yesterday's Zoya Maya swatch, and I used one coat of NYC topcoat. This polish applies easily, and, even after sitting for two years, I didn't have any problems with it.

Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal. Indoors, natural light, no flash.
This polish glows faintly yellow, but, like China Glaze Ghoulish Glow, didn't impress. I guess I'm just expecting way more from glow-in-the-dark lacquers than I'm getting! Weak glow aside, I do like the daintiness of this polish over my base.

Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I believe my husband purchased this bottle for me as a Christmas present in 2012. I don't see it available from Black Cat Lacquer anymore, however, it was a Halloween polish and could possibly return.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Zoya Maya

Hello!!

Today's polish is Zoya Maya!

Zoya Maya. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Maya is a perfect coral creme-jelly hybrid.

Zoya Maya. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today show two coats of Maya over Sinful Colors Base Coat plus one coat of NYC In a New York Minute fast dry topcoat. This was super shiny on it's own, but I always use topcoat. The formula was great, and this polish applied easily.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey Viridis

Hello!

Today's polish is Rainbow Honey Viridis!

Rainbow Honey Viridis. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Viridis is an awesome glitter topper. The base is packed with iridescent shimmer, aqua circles, lilac circles, neon stars, and a few iridescent hex glitters. It created a neat, cartoon-like galaxy look over my dark base polish.

Rainbow Honey Viridis. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are one swiped on coat, plus some dabbing, over yesterday's China Glaze History of the World swatch. I used two coats of topcoat to seal in the glitter. I didn't have any problems with application, but I did take care to place the stars where I wanted them.

Rainbow Honey Viridis. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Viridis came in July's Mystery Bag, so I'm not sure if or when it will be available again. Keep an eye out for Rainbow Honey's future offerings as it just might make the cut into a future collection! I purchased my mystery bag from Rainbow Honey, and they offer a monthly subscription service. I think it's really fun to get a little surprise package every month, so I am really glad Rainbow Honey offered it this way.

Stash Swatch Initiative: China Glaze History of the World

Hello!

Today, I have another polish from The Giver collection to show you. This one is History of the World.

China Glaze History of the World. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

History of the World is gorgeous, dusty blue-purple creme. I think this is my favorite from the entire collection! It is just lovely, and I think it will my go to fall mani color.

China Glaze History of the World. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today started with one coat of Duri Rejuvacote plus one coat of Sinful Colors Nail Hardener. After that, I only needed two effortless coats of History of the World to reach a nice finish. I topped this with one coat of Seche Vite. This polish has a great formula, which applied without issue.

China Glaze History of the World. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I purchased my bottle recently from Sally Beauty. Pick these, and any others you like, up from the collection when you see it because even the caps say "Limited Edition". They won't be around long!

NOTD: Sushi Nails!

Hello!

Here's my most recent mani! I went out for sushi with some friends recently and thought I needed to paint my nails just for the occasion!

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

After my usual base coats, I put on two coats of China Glaze Be More Pacific. To my pointer and pinkie fingers, I added one coat of Chick Polish Hipster Chick. The stamps all came from FUN IP #3 and were done in Konad Special Black, for the most part. When I bought that plate, I didn't I'd ever use those three stamps! I've since tried sushi and become a bit of a fangirl about it (obviously?!). I made a decal out of the pile of sushi image, so I could color it in. I used China Glaze Glittering Garland for the nori, OPI Toucan Do It if You Try and Color Club Wildflower for the seafood, and a tiny bit of Milani White Out for the rice. It was my first time trying that technique. I thought it was super fun!

Indoors, natural light, no flash.

These turned out better than how I envisioned the mani when I started it! So fun!

Copycat NOTW: Sherbert Rainbows!

Hello!

We're still playing a little bit of catch-up because this is what I wore a week ago! I saw Cris from Let Them Have Polish do a tutorial on this look, and I thought it was absolutely brilliant. I had to try it right away! Check out her tutorial -- it's awesome!

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

So, I started with my two base coat combination of Duri Rejuvacote and Sinful Colors Nail Hardener. For my rainbows, I used all China Glaze: Flip Flop Fantasy, Sun Worshipper, Sun-kissed, Be More Pacific, Caribbean Blue, and Sweet Hook. They worked out so nicely together! Like in the tutorial, I topped my rainbows with more rainbows, INM Northern Lights!

Indoors, natural light, no flash.

This looked SO good on. It's a very impressive, but easy, bit of nail art, and random people kept saying how awesome it was. I don't know how many times I was asked to explain how I did it.

Good job, LTHP!! Thanks for the inspiration! More soon! ^_^

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey Elevate

***Products in this post were sent for review!***

Hello!

Today, I have my full review of Rainbow Honey Elevate from the new Summer Mixtape! collection.

Rainbow Honey Elevate. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Elevate is a crazy mix of glitters in an iridescent shimmer packed base. Too many glitters to list! See for yourself!

Rainbow Honey Elevate. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are one brushed on coat of Elevate plus some dabbing over a black creme base, Cult Nails Nevermore. I topped this with two coats of topcoat to smooth out all that glitter. I found that this applied very easily, and the glitter readily came out on the brush.

Rainbow Honey Elevate. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I swatched this one over black so the iridescent shimmer would stand out. I love that added pop of purple iridescence.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey Work It Out

***Products in this post were sent for review!***

Hello!

Rainbow Honey Work It Out. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Today's post is the lovely Rainbow Honey Work It Out.

I love this dreamy coral creme! It is has a vintage feel, and I think it's absolutely great.

Rainbow Honey Work It Out. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are two coats of Work It Out over a coat of Sinful Colors Base Coat. I topped this with one coat of NYC In a New York Minute topcoat for extra shine. This polish is very nice and fluid, so it glides on smoothly without any issues.

Rainbow Honey Work It Out. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

My bottle was sent to me for review, but if you love it as much as I do, you can find it here. It is a part of Rainbow Honey's newest collection, Summer Mixtape! And, as I said yesterday, use the promo code MIXTAPE20 for twenty percent off your order until the end of August!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey One Minute More

****Products in this post were sent for review!***

Hello!

Today, I've got my full review of Rainbow Honey's One Minute More.

Rainbow Honey One Minute More. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

One Minute More is a daffodil yellow with a lot of pink shimmer. It's hard to determine, but I think there is also some green and gold shimmer amidst all that pink.

Rainbow Honey One Minute More. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches are one coat of Sinful Colors Base Coat, two coats of One Minute More, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. Formula on this polish is fantastic for a yellow. It is opaque but not streaky, yet odd. I wouldn't say this is a creme-based polish, but that is the overall look of it. It is strangely thick and almost textured, not very fluid at all, but that's what makes it apply so well, I think. It does dry smooth, but it is very strange.

Rainbow Honey One Minute More. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

My bottle was sent for review but can be purchased from Rainbow Honey. It is a part of their recent Summer Mixtape! collection, and I was given a promo code to share that is good to the end of the month: MIXTAPE20

Stash Swatch Initiative: China Glaze Friends Forever, Right?

Hello!

China Glaze Friends Forever, Right? Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Today, I have a brand new polish swatched up for you! This is Friends Forever, Right? from the new China Glaze limited edition collection, The Giver.

Friends Forever, Right? is a super pale pink creme polish. It is so pale that it does look like a soft white in some lighting.

China Glaze Friends Forever, Right? Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are two coats of Friends Forever, Right? over a base of Duri Rejuvocote plus one coat of Sinful Colors Nail Hardener. I topped this with one coat of Seche Vite. I was incredibly impressed with this polish. Usually pale polishes apply poorly, but this is superb! It self-levels nicely, and I didn't have any problems with streakiness.

China Glaze Friends Forever, Right? Indoors, natural light, no flash.

I purchased my bottle a few weeks ago at Sally Beauty. I was just there a few days ago and this collection AND the new fall collection from China Glaze was out on the shelves!
