Stash Swatch Initiative: Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily

Hello! I'm baaaack!

Kicking off the new year with the polish that was, perhaps, my most wanted last year. This is the now infamous Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Aqua Lily is a gorgeous, bright aqua with fine pink shimmer. The formula is fantastic; I had no issues with it. Swatches today are a base coat of Seche Clear, two coats of Aqua Lily, and a coat of Seche Vite.

Under indirect lighting, this is mostly just a gorgeous aqua blue with a hint of shimmer. It's the sunlight that really brings it out. It's great!

This was one of those polishes that was love at first sight for me. Unfortunately, I missed out on it on the first run. I was so excited when it was announced that Aqua Lily would be part of the most recent Bring it Back event.

Sadly, this is sold out again. I don't know if there are any plans to bring it back another time. Keeping an eye on Ji's Blog and RBL's Facebook page should give you a heads up if/when it gets another release. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

NotW: Pool Party Under Blue Skies

Hello again and Happy Friday!

Faraway was far too pretty to take off, and since it reminded me of the color of the sky on a perfect summer's day, here's what I did with it:

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

This is the swatch from yesterday (one coat of Sinful Colors Nail Hardening Base, two coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge Faraway, and a coat of Seche Vite), with two coats of Pretty & Polished Pool Party on my middle and ring fingers. The clouds are from Konad plate m79 stamped with Konad special white on my thumb, pointer, and pinky. I topped everything with NYC's In a New York Minute Fast Dry topcoat.

The clouds remind me of the little cutscene from Super Mario Bros. 3 (you know, after you defeat the Koopa and get the scepter back when Mario is falling through the air? Yes?). Happy memories! I spent so many childhood hours with my friends and sister playing Nintendo. Can I haz a itty bitty Mario-in-a-Tanooki-Suit shaped stamp pleeeeeeease?

I'll have a full swatch and review of Pool Party for you soon! Until then, enjoy the weekend!

More Monday!! ^_^

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rescue Beauty Lounge Faraway (Nearby)

Hello again!!

Here is my last Rescue Beauty Lounge Polish. This is Faraway Nearby from the recent GOMM collection.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Faraway. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I pre-ordered this polish along with Sante Fe, so my bottle has the unofficial name and label. It was originally called Faraway Nearby, but shortened to just Faraway due to some legal issues.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Faraway. Outdoors, sunlight, no flash.

This is my favorite of the four I have, I think... wait, no I can't play favorites! I like them all for different reasons haha! Formula on this was identical to that of Sante Fe--thicker than that of Halcyon or Scrangie, but just as easy to apply.

Faraway is a bright sky blue with blue shimmer. Like Sante Fe, the shimmer isn't all the apparent on the nail, but it seems to give this color it's depth. This looks like a blue creme, even outdoors to my eye. That part was a little disappointing, actually, because I had hoped this would be close enough to the now famous Aqua Lily to kill that lemming for me, but it has not. It may have been unfair of me to hope this polish could live up to the likes of Aqua Lily, however, aside from that, this polish is very, very pretty. It looks exactly like the sky on a gorgeous summer day. It's bright and happy! All swatches today are one coat of Sinful Colors Nail Hardening base, two coats of Faraway, and one coat of Seche Vite.

As with Sante Fe, this color will likely not be produced again once it it gone, so get on over to Rescue Beauty Lounge and order it if it strikes your fancy!

Please note, that my bottle has the old label. This should say "Faraway".

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rescue Beauty Lounge Sante Fe (Road)

Hello again!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Santa Fe. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Today I have a Rescue Beauty Lounge polish that is still available! This is Sante Fe Road, and it is a part of RBL's newest collection, GOMM (Weird name for a collection? Yes, but there's a story behind that...).

The GOMM collection was supposed to be named "Georgia on My Mind" and was inspired by the works of Georgia O'Keefe. However, legal issues got in the way. You can read a full explanation of this here, if you are interested. I ordered and received my bottle of Sante Fe Road before the change, during the pre-order event, so I should note that my bottle has the unnofficial name and label. This color is now called Sante Fe.

Sante Fe is a muted orange with a hidden orange shimmer. The shimmer is far more apparent in the bottle than on the nail. Indoors, this looks like a creme. The formula on this was thicker than the previous two RBL's I have posted (Halcyon and Scrangie), and it was excellent to apply. All swatches today are one coat of Sinful Colors Nail hardening base, two coats of Sante Fe, and one coat of Seche Vite.

There's a hint of shimmer there!
As you read (if you went ahead and followed the link), the legal drama surrounding this collection will likely prohibit any of the colors to be produced again. So, get this one while you can! Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes are sold through their website. I don't think these are available anywhere else. Shipping was super quick and the polishes come packaged beautifully.

Please note that this bottle has the old label. This should say "Sante Fe".

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie

Hello again!

Today we have one more Rescue Beauty Lounge pretty that is no longer available. I am sorry once again because it is really spectacular. This is the last one, I promise! The upcoming two polishes are from the newest collection and are still available.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Here is Scrangie. Created in collaboration with RBL by the fabulous blogger, Scrangie, herself! This is a fantastic purple polish with a green to blue shifting shimmer. The formula on this was like that of Halcyon--thinner than I'm used to but that caused no issues. Dry time was good, and I think the thinner polish and thinner coats helps bring out the shimmer. Swatches today are one coat of Sinful Colors Nail Hardening base, three coats of Scrangie, one coat of Seche Vite.

Check out that shimmer!

I am very happy to have snagged this one right before it sold out--following RBL on Facebook keeps you in the loop! Scrangie was one of the first blogs I found when this little hobby started and is still one of my top go-to blogs to see swatches of new collections. It's like wearing a piece of beauty blog history on my tips! Haha!! --_^

If this ever comes out of retirement, I'll be sure to let you all know.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rescue Beauty Lounge Halcyon

Hello again!

This week is Rescue Beauty Lounge week here on Never Without Polish! I have a grand total of four of Ji's polishes, and I wanted to share them with you. First up, we have Halcyon:

Rescue Beauty Lounge Halycon. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Halcyon is a gorgeous, muted, sage green with a suble pink shimmer. The formula on this was thinner than I'm used to, but easy to work with. I had no issues with this at all, and it dries quickly. Swatches today are one coat of Sinful Colors Nail Hardening basecoat, 2 coats of Halycon, and finished with one coat of Seche Vite.

I started paying attention to Rescue Beauty Lounge because of the Fan Collection. The first time I saw anything about them was at the now retired blog, All Lacquered Up. She has a great overview with swatches plus the inspirational stories behind each polish in the collection there for you to read. I still am lusting for Aqua Lily (which I hear will be back this fall!!!).

Halcyon was part of this year's fan collection. I say 'was' because, sadly, this beauty is no longer available; I'm sorry to tease you with a polish that you can no longer get. Ji sometimes brings back retired/sold out polishes during their Bring It Back (BIB), so I'd follow her blog (here) to catch any announcements of the sort.

Check out the pink shimmer!

The picture here looks like there is both pink and gold shimmer to this polish. I only see pink on the nail, but I'll have to look harder next time I wear this!

As far as I know, Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes are only available through their website (here). As I said before, this one in particular is sold out/retired, but stay tuned for a few others this week that are still up for grabs.

More soon! ^_^
