Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey Petit Four

Hello!

I'm still here! I wanted to show you this swatch of Rainbow Honey Petit Four, since it is part of the brand new collection, La Patisserie, that launches tonight!

Rainbow Honey Petit Four. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Petit Four is a cute, glitter polish with a pale yellow base. I love the glitter mix here. I see light blue, coral, and pink glitter in a variety of shapes along with a sprinkle of pink shimmer. Swatches today are one coat of Petit Four over a base of Sinful Colors Unicorn, then one coat of Seche Vite. I didn't have any problems with the application, and I thought this was the perfect glitter coverage.

Rainbow Honey Petit Four. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

My mini bottle came in the mystery bag from May of last year, and while I haven't seen any swatches of the new collection yet, I would assume that this is the same polish. The new collection launches in just a few hours over at Rainbow Honey!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Milani Jewel FX Lavender

Hello!
Milani Jewel FX Lavender. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Today, I have another simple glitter to show you. This one is from Milani's Jewel FX Line and is called Lavender.

Lavender has two sizes of lavender-colored hex glitters in a clear base.

Milani Jewel FX Lavender. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are one swiped on coat of Lavender over yesterday's Sally Hansen I Lilac You swatch plus one coat of NYC In a New York Minute topcoat. Unlike Tuesday's glitter polish, Essie Set in Stones, I found this one had an excess of the clear base. I let some of the base drain back into the bottle before applying this, and I found that with this little trick, it applied easily.

Milani Jewel FX Lavender, matte. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I've had this one for quite some time, but I think I bought it at CVS.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Essie Set in Stones

Hello!

Essie Set in Stones. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Today, I have a quick swatch of a polish I've been using quite a bit of lately. This is Essie Set in Stones.

Set in Stones is simply a mix of three different sizes of silver hex glitters in a clear base. I always want to call this Nothing Else Metals, so pardon my previous and future errors, please.

Essie Set in Stones. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are one swiped on coat of Set in Stones over yesterday's Rainbow Honey 488nm swatch plus one coat of NYC In a New York Minute Topcoat. This provides a nice glitter density, and I found it had the right clear base-to-glitter ratio for easy application.

Essie Set in Stones, matte. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I believe this was a part of the first Luxeffects line Essie came out with a few years ago. I've had this one for a long time, but I would bet I purchased my bottle at CVS back in Maryland. It's a solid, staple polish, and I think this is still available.

NOTW: New Year's Glam

Hello!

Lacquer Lust A Toast to the Good Life looked like the perfect New Year's Eve polish to me, so I just upped the glam for this simple look.

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I wore my swatch for a few days, then did a gradient with Essie Set in Stones and added just a touch of Milani Jewel FX Fuchsia for a pop of color. A coat of Gelous plus a coat of Seche Vite had this glass smooth and super shiny! Just in time for New Year's Eve.

NOTW: Two Weeks of Jamberry Christmas!

Hello! Merry Christmas! I hope you are enjoying the holidays!

I have two different looks to share with you today that I did while wearing some Jamberry nail wraps as accent nails.

The first, is this peppermint candy look I wore last week:

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I used Zoya Elisa and Orly Au Champagne here over my base coat of Duri Rejuvacote plus Sinful Colors Nail Hardener. I stamped the candies with Zoya Elisa and Bundle Monster plate BM-213. The candy cane stripes are nail wraps from Jamberry. I was a little sad to see that the red on the wrap was much more orange-toned than my polish, which made this one my least favorite of the two designs.

The second, is this festive little number I'm currently wearing:

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

This mani features OPI The Color of Minnie over my basecoats, which is a punchier, brighter, and more orange red than Zoya Elisa. While it still doesn't match the red on the nail wrap perfectly, the colors do play nicer together. After that was topcoated and dry, I used one dabbed on coat of KBShimmer Kringle All the Way to add some sparkles to my middle finger and double-topcoated it smooth.

I hope your holiday is bright and cheery!

More soon I hope. ^_^

NOTW: Luminous!

Hello!

This week's nails are a simple combination of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu and AEngland She Walks In Beauty. These were beyond gorgeous and full of light. I adored this look, and I definitely stared admiringly at my own hands quite often this week.

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I feel like pictures don't do this justice - it looks very luminous and ethereal in person. I need to do swatches this weekend, but I don't want to take this polish off!

Indoors, artificial light, with flash.

I started with one coat each of Duri Rejuvacote and Sinful Colors Nail Hardener. Then, I used three coats of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu. My middle finger, ring finger, and thumb each got one coat of AEngland She Walks In Beauty. I finished this off with one coat of Seche Vite.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Elevation Polish Stay Behind, Catch a Wave

Hello!!

Today's polish is a glitter topper from Elevation Polish. This is Stay Behind, Catch a Wave!

Elevation Polish Stay Behind, Catch a Wave. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Stay Behind, Catch a Wave has super shiny blue circles in two sizes, smaller satin blue circles, and iridescent flecks and shimmer. The metallic glitters are incredibly shiny, so shiny, in fact, that three people commented on that when I wore this out and about in one day. It's certainly eye-catching!

Elevation Polish Stay Behind, Catch a Wave. Indoors, artificial light, no flash. Those glitters are so shiny, they're reflecting my camer'a red exterior.

Swatches today are just one swiped on coat of Stay Behind, Catch a Wave over yesterday's OPI Toucan Do It If You Try swatch. I used two coats of topcoat for a smooth finish. I had no problems with this polish. I think one swiped coat provides a good amount of glitter, and it was easy to apply.

Elevation Polish Stay Behind, Catch a Wave. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Unfortunately, this lovely polish has been discontinued. I purchased my bottle over a year ago from Elevation Polish.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Salon Perfect Flower Power

Hello!

Today I have a pretty glitter topper from Salon Perfect to show you called Flower Power.

Salon Perfect Flower Power. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Flower Power is a pastel glitter topper in a clear base. The glitter includes satin pink and yellow circles with some smaller satin pink, yellow, and turquoise hexes. It's a cheery combination.

Salon Perfect Flower Power. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are one-to-two coats of Flower Power over yesterday's Milani Cupid's Touch swatch (which ended up looking more true to color than yesterday's pictures -- that glitter must have helped my camera 'see' the color better) plus two coats of topcoat. The dabbing method worked the best for me with this polish. The glitters are a little reluctant to come out of the bottle, so dabbing helped me to control where the glitter went and evenly apply it.

Salon Perfect Flower Power. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

This created a super cute look. I'm excited to see a readily accessible brand offering a very reasonably priced glitter like this that feels like it came from an indie brand. Nice job, Salon Perfect!

I purchased my bottle at Walmart.

NOTD: Green on Green

Hello!

Here's a quick mani I did in the middle of the week after I removed my Jamberry wear test mani.

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

After my base coat, I used three coats of Fing'rs Meet me in the Green Room, a bright green jelly, with one coat of Sally Hansen Galaxy Green over the top. I topped it off with one coat of Seche Vite. Bright and fun!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey Modern Hearts

Hello!

Today, I have Rainbow Honey Modern Hearts to show you!

Rainbow Honey Modern Hearts. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Modern Hearts is a glitter topper in a clear base. For glitters, I see neon pink hexes and squares, mango-colored hexes, light yellow hexes, tiny white hexes, and white hearts. There is also iridescent shimmer, which I've come to expect and love from Rainbow Honey polishes.

Rainbow Honey Modern Hearts. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are one coat over yesterday's Maybelline Bleached in Peach swatch plus two coats of topcoat. This applied nicely, and I didn't see the need to dab. I did, however, place the hearts purposefully.

Rainbow Honey Modern Hearts. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Modern Hearts came in my mystery bag so I'm not sure if this will be available for purchase on it's own. Keep an eye out at Rainbow Honey for new releases!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal

Hello!

Today, I have a very old untried to finally show you. This one is Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal.

Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Paranormal is a glow-in-the-dark polish with small iridescent squares and iridescent shimmer. This is definitely a layering polish, however, all the glow in the dark pigment did serve to lighten my base color a little bit.

Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are two coats of Paranormal over yesterday's Zoya Maya swatch, and I used one coat of NYC topcoat. This polish applies easily, and, even after sitting for two years, I didn't have any problems with it.

Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal. Indoors, natural light, no flash.
This polish glows faintly yellow, but, like China Glaze Ghoulish Glow, didn't impress. I guess I'm just expecting way more from glow-in-the-dark lacquers than I'm getting! Weak glow aside, I do like the daintiness of this polish over my base.

Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I believe my husband purchased this bottle for me as a Christmas present in 2012. I don't see it available from Black Cat Lacquer anymore, however, it was a Halloween polish and could possibly return.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey Viridis

Hello!

Today's polish is Rainbow Honey Viridis!

Rainbow Honey Viridis. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Viridis is an awesome glitter topper. The base is packed with iridescent shimmer, aqua circles, lilac circles, neon stars, and a few iridescent hex glitters. It created a neat, cartoon-like galaxy look over my dark base polish.

Rainbow Honey Viridis. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are one swiped on coat, plus some dabbing, over yesterday's China Glaze History of the World swatch. I used two coats of topcoat to seal in the glitter. I didn't have any problems with application, but I did take care to place the stars where I wanted them.

Rainbow Honey Viridis. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Viridis came in July's Mystery Bag, so I'm not sure if or when it will be available again. Keep an eye out for Rainbow Honey's future offerings as it just might make the cut into a future collection! I purchased my mystery bag from Rainbow Honey, and they offer a monthly subscription service. I think it's really fun to get a little surprise package every month, so I am really glad Rainbow Honey offered it this way.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey Elevate

***Products in this post were sent for review!***

Hello!

Today, I have my full review of Rainbow Honey Elevate from the new Summer Mixtape! collection.

Rainbow Honey Elevate. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Elevate is a crazy mix of glitters in an iridescent shimmer packed base. Too many glitters to list! See for yourself!

Rainbow Honey Elevate. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are one brushed on coat of Elevate plus some dabbing over a black creme base, Cult Nails Nevermore. I topped this with two coats of topcoat to smooth out all that glitter. I found that this applied very easily, and the glitter readily came out on the brush.

Rainbow Honey Elevate. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I swatched this one over black so the iridescent shimmer would stand out. I love that added pop of purple iridescence.

Rainbow Honey Elevate. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

My bottle was sent for review, but you can get one from Rainbow Honey. There's a promo code good to the end of August for 20% off, use MIXTAPE20

NOTW: Aqua Skittles

Hello!

I have another old mani to show you today. This one is from the beginning of May, and I still absolutely love it!

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I started out with my usual base coat combination of Duri Rejuvacote and Sinful Colors Nail Hardener. Then I put on two easy coats of China Glaze For Audrey. To my middle finger, I added one coat of Color Club Galactic Garden, from the Luminous Lacquer Collection. My ring finger got one coat of Emily de Molly Majestic Flight. Everything was then topped with Seche Vite. Perfection!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Pure Ice Sparks Fly

Hello!

Pure Ice Sparks Fly. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Today's polish is Sparks Fly from Pure Ice!

Pure Ice Sparks Fly. Indoors, sunlight, no flash.

Sparks Fly is a sparse glitter topper made up of blue microglitter, small copper hexes, and the occasional silver holographic star.

Pure Ice Sparks Fly. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Swatches today are two coats of Sparks Fly over yesterday's OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby swatch plus topcoat. Application was smooth, and I did not need to dab this on. I did, however, strategically place the stars when I managed to get one, but otherwise this is swiped on like normal polish.

Pure Ice Sparks Fly (matte). Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I purchased my bottle recently from Wal-mart.

Stash Swatch Initiative: OPI Black Shatter

Hello!

I picked up OPI Black Shatter a long time ago, and now it's turn on the blog has finally come.

OPI Black Shatter. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Black Shatter is exactly that - a black, shatter effect polish. I'm not super in love with shatter/crackle polish, so I usually only whip this baby out around Halloween. For some reason, it has an eerie feel to me.

OPI Black Shatter. Indoors, artificial light, no flash (natural finish).

Swatches today are one thin coat of Black Shatter over yesterday's Sally Hansen Lava swatch, which I thought worked out nicely. In the above picture, I left the natural finish, and the rest have the combination topped with NYC In a New York Minute. Depending on how you apply this, you can get different shatter patterns. A thin application will look like my swatches -- with thin shatter lines. Use a thicker coat, and it will look more like the design on the cap, which you can start to see on my ring finger where I used a bit more polish. This is easy to use, but you do need to be quick since it will crackle as it dries, and it dries pretty fast.

OPI Black Shatter. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I really don't remember where my bottle came from, but I have seen it recently for sale in the independent salon I go to.
