Stash Swatch Initiative: OPI Pompeii Purple

Hello!

Today I have an oldie but a goodie! This is OPI Pompeii Purple!

Pompeii Purple is an electric, barbie pink polish with a vibrant purple shimmer. It's a classic!

Swatches today started with one coat of Sinful Colors Base Coat, two coats of Pompeii Purple, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. This polish applies wonderfully, even after all this time! My bottle is quite old!

I have had Pompeii Purple forever. Like Pure Ice Gossip, it was one of my very limited, acceptable pinks in my tiny collection long before I became a polish addict. I remember my mom, who has had acrylics forever, brought this home from her salon appointment so she could take it along on vacation for touchups, and I appropriated that bottle. I think I may have even finished up the original bottle and repurchased!

This beauty has become a part of the core colors from OPI and can be found anywhere OPI is sold. I saw it this past weekend in Sally Beauty's new OPI display!

GOT Polish Challenge: Valentines

Hiya!

Today's GOT Polish Challenge prompt is Valentines!

While I love pink polish, I wanted to go in a slightly different direction for this Valentine's Day-themed mani. I started with two coats of China Glaze Sweet Hook over a base coat combination of Duri Rujuvacote and Sinful Colors Nail Hardener. One coat of Seche Vite followed that.

Once dry, I used China Glaze Snap My Dragon and Cult Nails Nevermore to stamp several images from these Bundle Monster plates: BM-03, BM-H17, BM-317, and BM-09. I sealed everything with one coat of NYC In a New York Minute.

I had a terrible time stamping! No matter what I did, I got the faded, distressed, and just not clean image transfer you see on every nail! I couldn't find my Konad Special Black, which might have solved this problem, so the hunt is on! At least the distressed look is consistent throughout, so, yeah... I meant to do that! :P

Stash Swatch Initiative: Sally Hansen Snow Globe

Hello!
Sally Hansen Snow Globe. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Today's polish is Sally Hansen Snow Globe.

Snow Globe is an iridescent glitter topper consisting of medium and tiny hex glitters in a clear base.

Swatches today started with one coat of Sinful Colors Base Coat, two coats each of OPI Skull & Glossbones (index and pinkie) and Zoya Ibiza (middle, ring, and thumb), one coat of Snow Globe, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. This polish has a very thick base, which makes it difficult to use the dab method to get an even glitter disbursement. Multiple coats end up getting too thick quickly, so I solved this by bending the brush against the inside of the bottle neck, which trapped the glitters on 'top' of the bent brush but allowed the excess base to drain back into the bottle.

My super awesome husband purchased this polish for me from Kmart. Being a polish addict, I can get a good idea of what a polish will look like on the nail from examining the bottle, so I tend to pass by a lot of things. I love it when he buys me polish because I love to see what other people gravitate towards without that experience or knowledge. He's the best!
