Stash Swatch Initiative: Candy Lacquer Candy Dots

Hello!

We're starting the week with a fun polish. This is Candy Lacquer Candy Dots!

Candy Lacquer Candy Dots. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Candy Dots is a simple glitter topper. The clear base is loaded with shiny, circle glitters in fuchsia, light pink, green, yellow, bright blue, and red.

Swatches today are one dabbed coat plus one coat of Gelous and then one of NYC In a New York Minute over Thursday's Caribbean Blue swatch. I found this polish to be rather thick and the glitter wanted to clump together. I think it could benefit from a bit of thinner before its next use. It's worth the effort -- it's a fun, happy polish.

I bought my bottle from Candy Lacquer's store. It looks like they are currently on a hiatus, so check out their Facebook page for updates on restocks and new polishes.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Candy Lacquer Princess Celestia

Hi!

Candy Lacquer Princess Celestia. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I have the gorgeous, Princess Celestia from Candy Lacquer to introduce to you today.

Candy Lacquer Princess Celestia. Outdoors, natural light (shade), no flash.
Princess Celestia is a complex glitter topper. A clear base suspends holo dust; small iridescent hexes; satiny, pastel hexes in white, pink, blue, and green; large white hexes; diamonds; hearts; squares; and gold holo stars. There's a lot going on in that bottle, so I may have missed something. It's a very pretty combination that looks stellar over the dark blue of Date in the Moonlight.

Swatches today are one dabbed coat over Essence Date in the Moonlight from a few days ago. I used one coat of Gelous and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute to smooth it out. As usual with Candy Lacquer, the formula is good. No issues with suspension or tricky glitters. Everything came out of the bottle readily. I even got a little crazy with the glitter on that middle finger. :)

Stash Swatch Initiative: Candy Lacquer Fluttershy

Hello!!
Candy Lacquer Fluttershy. Indoors, artificial light,  no flash.
Another favorite of mine! This is Fluttershy by Candy Lacquer!!

Candy Lacquer Fluttershy. Outdoors, sunlight, no flash.
Fluttershy is predominately satin yellow hexes -- two sizes, normal and tiny! There are also satin pink hexes and matte pink hexes. A smattering of pink holographic butterflies live in there too! Cute and whimsical! I love it, especially how it is so reminiscent of an aerial view of a field of flowers! Perfection in a bottle!

Swatches today show one dabbed coat of Fluttershy over last week's Cult Nails Let Me Fly, plus one coat of Gelous followed by one coat of Seche Vite. The formula is good. The butterflies are sparse, which I think really works. I didn't have to fish them out, but I was watching for them and placed them purposefully on certain nails for an overall, balanced look.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Candy Lacquer Sugar Skulls

Hello!

I have the infamous SUGAR SKULLS by Candy Lacquer for you today!!!!!! I was really lucky when I snagged this lemming during my January Haul.

Candy Lacquer Sugar Skulls. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
This was originally a limited run polish for Halloween, but demand was so great, they kept producing it. I think it's sold out every time! This polish holds up to the hype -- it is awesomely complicated with a gorgeous color palette.
Candy Lacquer Sugar Skulls. Outdoors, sunlight, no flash.
Sugar Skulls is a busy mix of shiny teal hex glitters; four sizes of matte white hexes; matte, white heart glitters; matte, pink heart glitters; small, matte pink hexes; small, yellow satin hexes; and, finally, yellow satin flower-shaped glitters! There are also some translucent bits in there and some holo shimmer. Maybe more, with everything going on in this polish, I may have missed something. What do you see?

Today's swatches are one dabbed coat of Sugar Skulls over the Orly Gumdrop swatch from last week. I needed a coat of Gelous and a coat of Seche Vite to smooth over the glitter. The clear base is a bit thick, but it needs to be to keep all that glitter in suspension. I didn't have any problems with this one -- I don't remember having to fish up any of the shaped glitter out of the bottle, so thumbs up to that!

You'll need to stalk this one, if you want it. Candy Lacquer updates their Facebook page with restock info regularly, and they sell through Big Cartel. Hopefully, you'll get lucky like I did and stumble upon a restock before it was even announced! Good luck!
