Stash Swatch Initiative: Pretty & Polished House of Heroes

Hello!

Today I have Pretty & Polished's House of Heroes.

Pretty & Polished House of Heroes. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
This is a fun glitter topper in a very lightly tinted green base. It's so lightly tinted that it did not affect the color of my base polish. So, onto the glitter! We've got tiny green, shiny hexes; small shiny, coppery-brown hexes, medium-sized matte, pastel hexes in green and blue; and, finally, large, white rectangular glitter pieces. Over orange, it has fall feel, but I think it would work over bright blue or any shade of green.

Swatches today are quite honestly a lot of layers: one coat Duri Rejuvacote, one coat Sinful Colors Nail Hardener, one coat of Elmer's Glue, two coats of Zoya Arizona, one coat House of Heroes, one coat of Gelous, and, finally, one coat of Seche Vite.

Formula on this one is quite nice. I didn't have any issues getting the glitter out of the bottle. One slightly manipulated coat was good for me, though I did take care to place those big rectangles where I wanted them. It's not a very dense glitter, but as I've mentioned before, those are my favorite! I like when the individual shapes can be easily seen on the nail rather than getting lost in the 'noise' of a glitter bomb.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Pretty & Polished Cheer Camp

Hello there!

Pretty & Polished Cheer Camp. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I have the lovely Cheer Camp from Pretty & Polished today!

Pretty & Polished Cheer Camp. Outdoors, sunlight, no flash.
Cheer Camp is a delicate and pretty light pink jelly base with shiny pink micro glitter, pink satin hexes and purple satin hexes. Once on the nail, this ends up being a really lovely neutral.

I started with a base of Sinful Colors Nail Hardener, two coats of Suncoat Petal Blush, two coats of Cheer Camp, and one coat of Seche Vite. The formula on this is great, no issues here. Plenty of glitter coverage using a normal application method.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Pretty & Polished Pool Party

Hello again!

Pretty and Polished Pool Party. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Today we have my very first indie polish purchase ever! Here is Pretty & Polished Pool Party!

Pretty and Polished Pool Party. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
This is a super fun jelly glitter sandwich in a bottle. The base is a milky blue with a million different glitters. There is a lot going on here--bar, hex, square, holographic glitters in every color. You may remember this from a few weeks back--it was a part of this fun mani.

This is one coat of Sally Hansen Protix, three coats of Pool Party , and one coat of old Seche Vite. In fact, my bottle is so goopy, I thought it ruined the mani before I could get pictures--halfway through my normal picture routine the polish wrinkled uniformally across all my nails. As I was going to remove it and start over, it leveled itself out. It was weird. I blame the Seche Vite. About time to add some thinner to that bottle.... Anyway, I love this polish. Someone else said that it looks like pool toys floating in a pool, and I couldn't agree more!

Application was easy. No fishing for glitter--there's more than enough in here. However, thinner coats with fewer brush strokes makes it easier. The glitter doesn't clump up or drag that way.

So fun for summer! I love this!

I bought this from llarowe. Here is the product page. As I write this (Sunday evening), this polish is currently available. Leah Ann does a great job at keeping you informed about restocks and other polish happenings through email and her Facebook page, if this isn't still available by the time this posts. This was part of my first order from llarowe, and I was impressed by how quickly my order was filled (seriously, I got a shipping confirmation two hours after I hit the "Submit Order" button!). Check llarowe out! It's a great source for indie and import polish.

More soon! ^_^

NotW: Pool Party Under Blue Skies

Hello again and Happy Friday!

Faraway was far too pretty to take off, and since it reminded me of the color of the sky on a perfect summer's day, here's what I did with it:

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

This is the swatch from yesterday (one coat of Sinful Colors Nail Hardening Base, two coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge Faraway, and a coat of Seche Vite), with two coats of Pretty & Polished Pool Party on my middle and ring fingers. The clouds are from Konad plate m79 stamped with Konad special white on my thumb, pointer, and pinky. I topped everything with NYC's In a New York Minute Fast Dry topcoat.

The clouds remind me of the little cutscene from Super Mario Bros. 3 (you know, after you defeat the Koopa and get the scepter back when Mario is falling through the air? Yes?). Happy memories! I spent so many childhood hours with my friends and sister playing Nintendo. Can I haz a itty bitty Mario-in-a-Tanooki-Suit shaped stamp pleeeeeeease?

I'll have a full swatch and review of Pool Party for you soon! Until then, enjoy the weekend!

More Monday!! ^_^
