Stash Swatch Initiative: KBShimmer Snow Flaking Way

Hello!

Another new KBShimmer to show you today. This one is my favorite -- Snow Flaking Way!

KBShimmer Snow Flaking Way. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Snow Flaking Way is an awesome midnight purple jelly base with large circle glitter, snowflake-shaped glitter, small and medium hex glitters, microglitter, and thin, short bar glitter. It's reminiscent of night snowfall, and I love how the bar glitter implies wind and movement. :)

Swatches today are one swiped coat plus one dabbed coat over this week's Sinful Colors Let's Talk swatch. I topped this with one coat of Gelous and one of NYC In a New York Minute. Like Snow Much Fun, you can wear this on it's own or layer it. The formula is good, but I did have to work a bit to get the bigger glitters out of the bottle. I also took care to place them purposefully, so they were balanced evenly.

I purchased this directly from KBShimmer's website. It is introduced there with  "Being a Minnesota native, living in Indiana has made snow all the more magical, as this far south, snow is not covering the ground at all times during winter.  This polish is an ode to those midnight flurries that covered the cars each morning." I'm also from Minnesota, and I totally get that about this polish! I love snow, but since I've been here in the mid-Atlantic, I haven't seen very much of it. At least I have this polish to tide me over until we make the big move back!

Stash Swatch Initiative: KBShimmer Snow Much Fun

Hello!

Today's swatch is KBShimmer Snow Much Fun!

KBShimmer Snow Much Fun. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Snow Much Fun is a sky blue jelly base full of snow-inspired glitters. There are white circles, snowflakes, and two sizes of hex glitters in that bottle along with holographic blue hexes and holographic dust. It looks like snow falling on a beautiful winter day, and I love it!

Swatches today show this polish two ways. On just my ring finger, I used three coats of Snow Much Fun over my base coat of Seche Clear. The rest of my fingers have layered one coat over Zoya Robyn. Everybody got a coat of Gelous plus a coat of NYC In a New York Minute. This polish is easy to use with only minor manipulation to get the larger glitters out of the bottle and placed purposefully on the nail. I prefer to layer it, but it does build easily to opacity.

I purchased this bottle a few months ago directly from KBShimmer's website. Great polish, great prices, and always in stock!

Stash Swatch Initiative: KBShimmer Kringle all the Way

Hello and Merry Christmas!
KBShimmer Kringle All the Way. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I saved a very Christmas-y polish just for today. This is KBShimmer Kringle All the Way.

KBShimmer Kringle All the Way. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Kringle all the Way is a fabulous glitter topper in a clear base. I see four sizes of circle glitter in holographic green, red, gold, and silver plus holo dust! It's very shiny and gorgeous!

Swatches today are a base coat of Seche Clear, and two dabbed coats plus NYC In a New York Minute and Gelous over my base colors of Zoya Sooki, Pure Ice Wild Thing, and Zoya Trixie. The glitter coverage is rather sparse if you try to brush this on. I found it best to capture a bunch of glitter on the brush and dab it on to place the glitters where I wanted them.

I purchased this bottle from KBShimmer's website. They offered Kringle All the Way as part of this year's holiday collection. It was their charity polish -- they donated a part of the proceeds from each bottle sold to Toys for Tots. According to their Facebook page, they raised nearly $3000 for the charity!!! Amazing! This one is still available for a few more days, but the charity part is over. If you're after this one, get it now! They announced recently on their Facebook page that this was going into retirement and may or may not return next year.

Happy Holidays! Enjoy the good times, family, and feasts! More soon! ^_^

Stash Swatch Initiative: KBShimmer Quantum Leaf

Hello!

The last of the KBShimmer in my stash is up for swatching today. This is Quantum Leaf!

KBShimmer Quantum Leaf. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Quantum Leaf is a mustard-yellow based polish with multiple types of glitter swimming within. I see extra-large, red hexes. Large red, orange, and yellow hexes. Small and tiny, red hexes. Along with the glitter, I can see both holographic shimmer and a red shimmer. Hellooooo, Autumn!

KBShimmer Quantum Leaf. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Swatches today are a base coat of Seche Clear, two coats of Quantum Leaf, one coat of Gelous, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. This polish, like the others I own, has a great formula. This is surprisingly opaque and brushed on easily.

This color is one of those ugly/pretty polishes. You love it or hate it. I ended up loving it! It's like nothing else I have... but that would make sense, since I tend to steer clear of yellows, especially those of the mustard variety! This one drew me in!

Once again, this was purchased by me from KBShimmer.

Stash Swatch Initiative: KBShimmer Don't Teal Anyone

Hello!

Another KBShimmer for today! This is Don't Teal Anyone!

KBShimmer Don't Teal Anyone. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Don't Teal Anyone has large, satin hexes in yellow and blue; small, satin hexes in pink and teal; tiny teal hexes; and small, thin, pink bars in a lovely teal, jelly base. I love this mix of colors -- it's exotic and tropical.

Swatches today are a base coat of Seche Clear, two thick coats of Don't Teal Anyone, one coat of Gelous, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. Formula was not problematic, and this brushed on easily.

Stash Swatch Initiative: KBShimmer No Whine Left

Hello!

Monday, we meet again. So soon, far too soon. Today’s polish is from KBShimmer’s fall collection from last year. Poor thing has been sitting untried too long, so here it is: KBShimmer No Whine Left!

KBShimmer No Whine Left. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

No Whine Left has a deep, wine-colored jelly base packed with glitter. I see satiny, blue and holographic, teal hexes. There are also small, purple hexes and micro glitter in blue and pink.

Swatches today are a base coat of Seche Clear, three coats of No Whine Left, one coat of Gelous, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. Formula on this is very good. It brushed on easily, and was not problematic.

This was a fairly popular polish last year. I remember seeing it on many blogs, and it deserves the exposure – it’s beautiful! It gives an almost-galaxy nail type effect all on it’s own. I purchased my bottle directly from KBShimmer.

Stash Swatch Initiative: KBShimmer Sugar Plum Faerie

Hello!

I have my first KBShimmer today! This is from last year's holiday collection. It is Sugar Plum Faerie!

KBShimmer Sugar Plum Faerie. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Sugar Plum Faerie is grape-purple jelly sandwich in a bottle. There are deep purple, metallic hexes; cranberry, holo hexes; and lime green, holo hexes all in multiple sizes hanging out in that dreamy grape base. The glitter is the super shiny, metallic type. It catches the light and is very sparkly. This polish is incredible!

KBShimmer Sugar Plum Faerie. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
For today's swatches, I started with a base of Duri Rejuvacote. Since I intended to wear this one as a full mani, I then used a layer of Elmer's Glue. After that was dry, I needed three coats of Sugar Plum Faerie for full coverage. I topped it all off with a coat of Gelous plus Seche Vite. The formula on this is much sheerer than I expected, but it built up surprisingly well. It is easy to work with and keeps all that glitter in suspension nicely. Well done, KBShimmer!

KBShimmer Sugar Plum Faerie. Outdoors, sunlight, no flash.
I am totally smitten with the color combination in this polish. That pop of lime green in there is gorgeous with the rest of the mix being berry toned. I bought this bottle recently straight from KBShimmer's website. Overall, I think this brand is outstanding. Their website is professional, prices are extremely reasonable, and their selection is huge.
