Stash Swatch Initiative: Sinful Colors Let's Talk

Hello!

Today, let's take a look at Sinful Colors Let's Talk.

Sinful Colors Let's Talk. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Let's Talk is a deep blue jelly packed with fine purple shimmer. It's so shimmery, it's almost metallic, and it walks the line between blue and purple.

Swatches today are a base coat of Seche Clear, two coats of Let's Talk, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. Formula is okay -- it's a thinner polish that is streaky on the first pass, but evens out to opacity in two. Not bad for two bucks!

I purchased this bottle a long time ago from Walgreens. Pre-blog for sure! So, I'm not sure if this is still available.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Sinful Colors: Faceted

Hello!

Today I have a surprise Walgreens find! This is Sinful Colors Faceted!

Sinful Colors Faceted. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Faceted is an incredible mix of iridescent bar glitter and teeny, tiny lavender square glitter in a clear base. This one is crazy-unique! And really pretty.

Swatches today are one and a half coats of Faceted and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute over yesterday's Zoya Dovima swatch. By one and a half coats, I mean that I swiped on one coat and went back over to dab and wiggle the brush so the bars were randomly aligned. Other than that little extra step, this polish applies easily with no formula issues.

My awesome husband spied this one on the shelf and brought it over to me. I was instantly intrigued because it looks amazing in the bottle. Those iridescent bars create a duochrome effect in there, which you can see in the bottle shot (however, it is slightly exaggerated because my camera is red and reflecting in the center-most part). Once I got this home, I was so curious about what it was that I swiped some on a piece of paper. Over a white base the iridescent bars show up as a translucent pink, flashing to blue. Over a dark base they pop from orange through green to blue. The shiny purple squares show up nicely over both the light and dark base. The name is appropriate too -- in direct sunlight, all definition of the glitter shape is lost and it becomes a wild, sparkle fest. I couldn't capture that well on camera, but it was pretty incredible as well.

My favorite way to wear this is with a matte topcoat. It glows! Totally amazing.

Sinful Colors is sold at Walgreens, which is where I bought this bottle. I found it recently -- within the last few months. I highly recommend hunting this one down!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Sinful Colors Cream Pink

Hello!

Today I have one of the first polishes I remember buying from what is now my current stash... way back when the addiction was just beginning. This is Sinful Colors Cream Pink.

Sinful Colors Cream Pink. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Cream Pink isn't even a creme. It's a neon pink polish that has a fine, barely-there orange shimmer.

Swatches today are a base coat of Duri Rejuvacote, one coat of Sinful Colors Nail Hardener, two coats of Cream Pink, and one coat of Seche Vite. This has a perfect formula. It applies easily and is nearly a one-coater. As with most neons, it dries slightly matte, and a coat of topcoat makes this beauty pop.

I love this polish. I know I picked up a few years ago, during the summer, at Walgreens. I have seen a polish with the same name in the Sinful Colors display recently, but it looks different than the one I have -- more pastel and truly a creme, I think. I haven't bought that one yet to compare, so I'm not sure if the current "Cream Pink" is the same polish. Next time I'm there I'll have to see if it has the "152" on the label... I'll cherish this bottle of mine! [Edited to add: So I checked the bottles at Walgreens -- they still have "Cream Pink 152" on the shelves, but it is definitely a different polish. I actually saw two different versions besides the one I have in the display. The versions out now are not neon pink -- more of a carnation pink. I saw one that definitely had the orange shimmer and one that I think was simply a creme. Bummer! Since I adore the neon pink version best! But perhaps my bottle is mislabeled and this polish is something else?]

Stash Swatch Initiative: Sinful Colors Amethyst

Hello! Happy Thanksgiving, America! Enjoy that turkey!

Another quick swatch post for a simple creme polish -- this one is Sinful Colors Amethyst.

Sinful Colors Amethyst. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Amethyst is the perfect shade of grape-purple! I'd been on the hunt for this very thing for awhile. I'm pretty sure I picked up and examined every purple polish in Target the day that I bought this because nothing else matched what I had in mind... until this one!

Swatches today are a base coat of Seche Clear, two coats of Amethyst, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. This polish has a nice formula, which didn't give me any issues. It's nicely pigmented and smooth.

As I mentioned, I found this lovely at Target. Sinful Colors is also sold at Walgreens.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Sinful Colors Nova

Hello again!

Sinful Colors Nova. Indoors, artificial light, with flash.
This is Sinful Colors Nova.

This is a gorgeous deep blue jelly-like base polish with blue and green shimmer. It is well pigmented, needing only two coats for opacity. I see some balding near my cuticles in the sun, so perhaps a third coat or more patient application would have been better. Indoors, however, this was not visible.

As shown today, I've used a base of Sinful Colors Nail Hardener, two coats of Nova, and one coat of Seche Vite. Formula was pretty good, but I can see the potential for a bit of staining with this one.

I found this in a random display at Walgreens quite some time ago. It's a unique and beautiful polish. I think it looks like the night sky, and it would be a fantastic start for a galaxy mani.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Sinful Colors Unicorn

Hello again!!
Sinful Colors Unicorn. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

Today I have my first Sinful Colors swatch post, I think. Strangely, this one happens to be my most recent Sinful Colors purchase! This is Unicorn:

Sinful Colors Unicorn. Outdoors, sunlight, no flash.
Unicorn is a great pale, pastel yellow creme. I'd been on the hunt for this one for awhile, since I can't come up with another polish quite like it, so I was pleased when I finally found it at my local Walgreens.

Sinful Colors Unicorn. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I used a base coat of Sinful Colors Nail Hardener, three coats of Unicorn, and one coat of Seche Vite for swatches here. I usually do only two coats of polish, but this one needed three. It was a little streaky and patchy, but yellow polishes tend to be finicky like that. This one wasn't too much of a pain. I was hoping it would lean a little more towards a jelly finish so I could potentially dupe Candeo Jellybean using Black Cat Lacquer's Rainbow Brite. I'll still give it a go sometime with a thin final coat of unicorn--results to be published... eventually!
