Stash Swatch Initiative: CrowsToes Absolum - Your Potions Master

Hello again!! This is my 100th post! *Happy Dance* Woohoo! I didn't really think I'd last this long when I started--I figured I'd give up or get bored, but nope--still having fun! ^_^

Anyway, I've got another indie polish up for swatching. This was an impulse buy back in September, and I couldn't be happier about that. I've worn this polish a few times already, and it's stunning!
CrowsToes Absolum. Indoors, artificial light, with flash.

This beauty has a ton of incredibly shiny glitters packed into that bottle. I see big blue hexes; smaller green, silver holographic, and orange hexes; tiny silver holographic, black, and blue hexes; and finally, some black bar glitter. It's totally gorgeous on the nail. I've worn one coat over a base of Zoya Ibiza here (specifically, it's a base of Seche Clear, one careful coat of Zoya Ibiza, one coat of Absolum, and one coat of Seche Vite). It's like these two polishes were made for one another--the shimmery, inky blue of Ibiza and the shiny, shiny, shiny blue, orange, and green combination of Absolum is fantastic.

Formula was extra thick, but there's a warning about that everywhere I've seen this for sale. I used some Seche Restore thinner on my bottle and it glides on perfectly. I didn't need to dab or anything--just a swipe and maybe some slight placement of a few glitters, but otherwise easy!

Even though the glitter in this is incredibly shiny and I love that, I did slap some Butter London Matte Finish over it. I love it this way too.

If you're wanting this one (and really, why wouldn't you? haha), it can be found a few places. I bought mine from llarowe, but there are a few other etailers out there that carry this one.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Wet n' Wild Night Prowl

Hello again!!

Just a quickie post to show you Wet n' Wild Night Prowl.

Wet n' Wild Night Prowl. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
This is a black jelly with a ton of purple micro-glitter. Swatches are a base of Sinful Colors Nail Hardener, three coats of Night Prowl, one coat of Seche Vite, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute Fastdry Topcoat.

Indoors, artificial light, with flash.
I needed three coats to get this even. It was a little patchy still at two coats. Due to all that glitter, this dries gritty and necessitated two coats of topcoat to get smooth. Small issues aside, I think it's worth it. This is a great dark, brooding polish--perfect for Halloween, which was when I had this one on.

From pictures around the internets, I'm thinking this might be close to AEngland's new polish, Ophelia, but I don't have that one to compare it to. What do you think? Potential dupes? For less than $1 (got mine on sale for 70 cents!), is this close enough for you? I think it is for me!

I found mine at Walgreens! Happy hunting if you're looking to try it out!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Naild'it Vegas Sands

Hello again!
Naild-It Vegas Sands. Indoors, artificial light, no flash. My camera made the blue too dark here.

This polish was a pretty big lemming of mine until recently. This is my first Naild'it polish and it is Vegas Sands!

Naild-It Vegas Sands. Indoors, artificial light, with flash. This one is more color accurate than the first.

This is a glitter bomb of micro yellow and blue matte hex glitters with some small pink shiny glitters mixed in there, all in a clear base. This is super densely packed--I used three coats of Vegas Sands with no base for swatches today, topped with a coat of Seche Vite and two coats of NYC In a New York Minute Fastdry Topcoat.
Naild-It Vegas Sands. Indoors, artificial light, no flash. Love this mix of glitter!

The formula on this is easy to work with. The glitter stays put, and I did not experience any balding or patchiness when applying additional coats. The three coats I used to get this opaque did build up a lot on the nail, so I'd layer this in the future. Maybe over something like Zoya Robyn? It took a lot of topcoat to get it smooth, but that's to be expected with so much glitter! There's a lot of surface area to cover!

Naild-It Vegas Sands. Outdoors, natural light, no flash. Cloudy day, unfortunately, bet this would be even more awesome in the sun!
I was so excited when this came. I ordered through llarowe. I am not disappointed. The Polish Hoochie, who is one of those bloggers I look up to because she rocks, has a FABULOUS comparison of Vegas Sands with other similar polishes. This was super helpful for me, because I knew I wanted something like this, but I wasn't sure which one was for me. That one swatch comparison photo made up my mind! Check it out over here!
