Stash Swatch Initiative: OPI Get Your Number

Hello!

We started the week with texture, and we're going to end it with texture! This is OPI's Get Your Number.

OPI Get Your Number. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Get Your Number is a bright blue texture polish with a smattering of holographic hex glitters. It's a squishy blue, the jelly equivalent for texture polish. It's hard to describe, but it's not the deep, saturated blue like Zoya Sunshine from Monday. This is more sheer, but far brighter.

OPI Get Your Number. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Swatches today are one coat of Sinful Colors Base Coat and two coats of Get Your Number. This applied easily without any complications.

I picked up this polish a long time ago from my local JCPenney Salon, I think... Yes, February 2013! My now-husband bought me this one for Valentine's day!

GOT Polish Challenge: Dots

Hello!

Today's GOT Polish Challenge prompt is "Dots"!

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I was inspired by two different bloggers here. First, I used Chalkboard Nails' tutorial for the placement. Second, my color choices were inspired by this post from A Girl and Her Polish. I started with a base of Sinful Colors Unicorn. I used a few different sized dotting tools to place dots over Unicorn with Color Club Wildflower, China Glaze Riveting, and Zoya Robyn. One coat of NYC In a New York Minute left this smooth and glossy.

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

After that, I tried this out mattified. Love it both ways! Check out the rest of the dotticures!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Orly Angel Eyes

Hello!

Today's polish is Orly Angel Eyes!

Orly Angel Eyes. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Angel Eyes was a surprise for me! I was under the impression that this was a chunky, full coverage glitter with holographic hexes, but that's not it at all! Once I put it on, I realized it's a lot of bright blue microglitter with small iridescent hex glitters in a clear base.

Orly Angel Eyes. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Swatches today are a base coat of Sinful Colors Base Coat, two coats of Zoya Ibiza, one coat of Angel Eyes, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. Formula here is just dandy! It applies very easily, and one coat is the perfect coverage.

Orly Angel Eyes. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I'm so glad I picked this up - I think I purchased this one on clearance from either Ulta or Sally Beauty some time ago. Have I had this for over a year? I think this might have been from the winter or holiday 2012 collection... Indeed I have! Google confirms, this was one polish from 2012's Naughty or Nice collection. I let this one sit neglected for far too long!

Orly Angel Eyes. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I'm not sure on the availability of this one. My normal go to for older polishes, Head2Toe Beauty, does not have this collection listed for sale. Happy hunting!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Zoya Odette

Hello!

Today I have another Zoya swatched up! This one is Odette from the newest collection, Naturel!

Odette is a pretty, dusty purple creme. I picked up five of the six polishes in this collection, and, so far, I am loving the soft, subdued hues of each one. This one is one of the darker polishes in the set and perfect to wear alone or as a base for nail art. I wore this swatch for a few days on her own, then added some glitter and stamping, which I'll you guys soon.

Zoya Odette. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Swatches today started with one coat of Duri Rejuvacote and one coat of Sinful Colors Nail Hardener. After that, two easy coats of Odette followed. I finished with one coat of Qtica Extending Topcoat. Formula was good, and I had no trouble with application.

Zoya Odette. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I purchased this bottle directly from Zoya's website. Check out their Facebook page - they run great promos and sales frequently... I hardly ever pay full price for Zoyas!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey Metalmark

Hello!

I have the other Rainbow Honey sneak peek polish to show you today! This one is Metalmark!

Rainbow Honey Metalmark. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Metalmark is a gorgeous clear-based glitter topper. It might be a contender for my favorite glitter polish! There are small, bright blue-green hexes; large bright blue-green hexes, and microglitter in the same bright blue-green color. There are also small light green hexes, and silver holographic butterflies. But what makes this truly stunning, is the purple shimmer this polish is laced with. It's super gorgeous, and it's exactly what Rainbow Honey does so well. This polish is crazy beautiful, a little wild, and complicated. The purple is an unexpected pop of color, and it totally makes this polish stand out above the rest.

Rainbow Honey Metalmark, matte. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Swatches today are a little more complicated than usual. I started with a base of Seche Clear and a two color ombre of: Zoya Odette, Zoya Rue, Zoya Chantal, China Glaze Re-fresh Mint, and OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui.

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
After that, I used one coat of Metalmark, and topped it all with the usual, Gelous plus NYC In a New York Minute. Good formula, no issues. I took care to place the butterflies, but otherwise easy application.

Rainbow Honey Metalmark. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
This polish is a mini that was a part of a mystery grab bag that was included in my most recent order. Super fun! I loved this polish so much, I took so many pictures! I love it mattified too!

Rainbow Honey Metalmark. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Metalmark isn't available for purchase yet. It is going to be a part of Rainbow Honey's upcoming spring collection.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey Heisenberg

Hello!! Friday finally!

I have another Rainbow Honey polish to show you! This was August's LE and is no longer available, but check it out. It's called Heisenberg.

Rainbow Honey Heisenberg. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Heisenberg is an icy blue, holographic glitter topper. There are tiny, ice blue shard-like flakies and holographic microglitter packed densely in a clear base.

Rainbow Honey Heisenberg. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Swatches today are a base coat of Seche Vite. On my pointer finger and pinkie, I layered up three coats of Heisenberg. On my middle finger and ring finger, I used one coat of Heisenberg over China Glaze Splish Splash. Everything was topped with a coat of Gelous plus one of NYC In a New York Minute. This polish has a good formula. It applies and builds easily.

Rainbow Honey Heisenberg. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I purchased this polish in September from Rainbow Honey, where, as I said, it was a limited edition. If it ever makes a return, the announcement should come on Rainbow Honey's Facebook page.

GOT Polish Challenge: Blue

Hello!

Today's GOT Polish Challenge prompt is "Blue"! And here's my blue mani:

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I started with a base coat of Seche Clear and two coats of Contrary Polish Santorini, which is so gorgeous. Why don't I wear this more? Sheesh! Anyway, I continued on with a coat of Seche Vite, and once that was dry, I stamped the snowflakes from BM-323 with Konad Special Polish in white. I finished it up with a coat of NYC In a New York Minute and then one of INM Northern Lights.

Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Has this design been done to death? Yes! But I hadn't done one yet! I love snow and cold, and we have that here this week. I love it!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Rainbow Honey Midnight Fountain

Hello!
Rainbow Honey Midnight Fountain. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I have something special today! This polish isn't even available for sale yet! In fact, the new collection hasn't even been announced yet! This is Rainbow Honey Midnight Fountain!

Rainbow Honey Midnight Fountain. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Midnight Fountain is everything I wanted Bubble Beam to be! It's a gorgeous cerulean blue jelly packed with glitter and shimmer in Rainbow Honey's beautifully complicated way. I see multiple sizes of deep blue, holographic hexes; light blue, holographic squares; iridescent hexes; and green shimmer. It is stunning!

Rainbow Honey Midnight Fountain. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Swatches today started out with a base coat of Seche Clear. I then polished up all my fingers except my ring finger with Contrary Polish Santorini, and those got one coat of Midnight Fountain. I used three coats of Midnight Fountain alone on my ring finger to show you how it looks on its own. Everything got topped with the usual, Gelous plus NYC In a New York Minute combination for a smooth finish. This polish glides on nicely and builds to opacity easily. No issues with application.

Rainbow Honey Midnight Fountain, matte. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
As you'll see in my upcoming haul post, this mini bottle was included free with my last month's order directly from Rainbow Honey. The deal was a free mystery grab bag with any purchase over $25. The grab bag included three mini polishes and a cuticle balm! And two of those polishes are samples from the new collection, so there's one more coming up soon! I did get the okay to post about these yet-to-be announced polishes on my blog from Rainbow Honey's customer service. I didn't feel it was right to just go ahead and post about them since they were sent to me as a normal consumer, so I did get in contact with them. The response was quick and positive. In my experience so far, Rainbow Honey is a great company -- no restock drama, quick shipping, and positive customer service.

I recommend keeping tabs on their Facebook page if you're interested in information about this new collection. Previews and launch dates should be announced soon!

Stash Swatch Initiative: Color Club Blue Heaven

Hello!

Today's polish is Color Club Blue Heaven!

Color Club Blue Heaven. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Blue Heaven was a part of the first Halo Hues collection, which was so popular last year (the year before?). And for good reason, this is a frosty blue linear holo. It looks nice indoors but looks incredible in full sunlight.

Color Club Blue Heaven. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Swatches today are one coat of Sinful Colors Base Coat, two coats of Blue Heaven, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. Great formula here -- it's very opaque and flows nicely onto the nail. I think you could get away with one coat for everyday wear, but I did two for blog pictures.

Color Club Blue Heaven. Indoors, filtered direct sunlight, no flash.
I think I purchased this from Head2Toe Beauty some time ago.

Stash Swatch Initiative: CrowsToes Indian Summer

Hello!

Today I have CrowsToes Indian Summer!

CrowsToes Indian Summer. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Indian Summer is a mysterious color shifting polish. At extreme angles, it looks reddish-orange then shifts through magenta to deep purple. In most situations, I saw the purple. It's shimmery, mysterious, and pretty!

CrowsToes Indian Summer. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Swatches today are a base coat of Seche Clear, three coats of Indian summer over all but my ring finger, which got two coats over Cult Nails Nevermore, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. This has a thin formula, that needed three coats for opacity, but was easy to apply.

CrowsToes Indian Summer. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
I purchased my bottle recently from Llarowe.

Stash Swatch Initiative: Emily de Molly When Planets Collide

Hello!

Today's polish is a stunner! This is Emily de Molly When Planets Collide!

Emily de Molly When Planets Collide. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
When Planets Collide is a black jelly based polish with holographic hex glitters in: large blue, medium orange, and small green. I have BIG love for this one. It's got great sense of depth on the nail, and it's dark and mysterious. And gorgeous!

Emily de Molly When Planets Collide. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Swatches today are one dabbed coat over yesterday's Essence Jacob's Protection swatch plus one coat of Gelous then one of NYC In a New York Minute. I had no issues with application.

Emily de Molly When Planets Collide. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.

I am swooning over this combination! The base is sheer enough for the shimmer in Jacob's Protection to shine through, and it is fabulous!

I purchased this bottle from Llarowe a long time ago, but I don't think it is currently available! :(

Stash Swatch Initiative: Essence Jacob's Protection

Hello!

Today's polish is Jacob's Protection from Essence.

Essence Jacob's Protection. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Jacob's Protection was a part of what I assume was a special edition collection for the second Twilight movie (third? I didn't fall victim to that particular craze.). It is a black jelly base loaded with shimmer. It's either iridescent shimmer that flashes blue, purple, and green or a mix of shimmers in those colors. It's hard to tell, but either way, it's really pretty.

Essence Jacob's Protection. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
Swatches today are a base coat of Seche Clear, two coats of Jacob's Protection, and one coat of NYC In a New York Minute. I didn't have any problems with the formula, but I hate the brush! It's wide and flat, and I found it a bit difficult to use with precision.

Essence Jacob's Protection. Indoors, artificial light, no flash.
So, I actually ended up wearing this one for our out-of-town trip last weekend. This swatch was so gorgeous, I couldn't wait to get this back on my nails. I was in a rush to do that mani before we left and must've used thicker coats than I did here. I think because of that is why this fell completely flat and dull on the nail. I was so mad and disappointed! I was stuck with what looked like pitted black polish on my nails all weekend instead of the glowing, navy sparkle-fest I was expecting! So, make sure you use a final thin coat to get this look!

I purchased this bottle a long while ago at Ulta. I doubt you can still find this one... sorry!
